Back to School

Jaron had his first day of 1st grade today. He was a little nervous. We had him make a card to give to his new teacher. We put a Visa gift card inside so she could get whatever she needed for the classroom.

We walked him to his classroom and he was very quiet. He sat down at his desk, we took some more pictures and hugged him goodbye. I had to pull Jacob out by his ear. He wanted to stay and hang out with Jaron.

Jaron wanted to ride the bus home. Jacob, Jenna, and I walked down to the bus stop to pick him up. Jenna wanted to push her baby in its stroller.

He had a lot of fun at school, they got to have watermelon and make a watermelon project. That is about all Jaron talked about. He isn't one for sharing too much information.

Getting ready for 1st grade

This last week has been spent getting ready for Jaron to start the 1st grade. Last week, we found out that his teacher is going to be Ms. Brown. We are very excited, we've heard great things about her. Jaron went to the eye doctor and needed a new prescription for his glasses. His prescription has more than doubled in the last year. Poor kid. Then, the next day, he had his first grade physical at the Dr. He needed his last chicken pox shot. He handled it ok. He was pretty scared when they told him he needed one. We spent a nice relaxing weekend at home. Then on Monday Jaron helped me clean out the refrigerator to get ready to do some serious grocery shopping. We went swimming yesterday and the kids were so tired, they both were in bed and asleep before 8pm.

Today, we picked up one pair of his new glasses. We got him two pair, the second ones will be here next week. He got new shoes and socks at JCPenney. We also bought him a pair of the $10 Old Navy jeans. What a deal!

We took him to Target and got him a new back pack, lunch box and thermos. They are all GIJoe. As Jaron said, "I'm so into GIJoe right now." That cracked us up.

Finally it was time for haircuts. Both Jaron and Jacob needed one. Now, he is almost all ready for school. Tomorrow he has a dentist appt. It is also open house at the school. So, Jacob and I get to meet Ms. Brown tomorrow. On Friday, Jaron has orientation where he gets to meet his teacher and some of the kids in his class. Ms. Brown will read a story and they get a snack. It only lasts an hour. It is a good way to get the kids ready to go back on Monday.

Here are some pictures of Jaron's new haircut and glasses.
