Muffin Tin Monday

For the past couple weeks on Monday, we have been participating in Muffin Tin Monday. Jaron and Jenna have been loving it! They get so excited when they know that it is Monday. Today's theme was 4th of July.

We had a peanut butter and jelly star, watermelon, strawberry yogurt with red, white and blue sprinkles, salsa and tortilla chips, more watermelon, and blue raspberry jell-o.

Jaron's 1st sleep over

Last night Jaron spent the night at his friend Cole's house. They used to be our neighbors, right across the street. They moved down by the lake last year. Jaron had a lot of fun. They had snow cones and ate popcorn while watching Star Wars.

After Jessica, Cole's mom, picked Jaron up. Jenna and I went up to town. I took her to Cold Stone for ice cream. She had purple (berry) ice cream with gummy bears. After ice cream, we went to Michael's. Then we went to super wal-mart. We had to buy a birthday present for Jenna's friend Caitlynn. Tomorrow is her birthday party. After wal-mart, we grabbed Sonic for dinner. When I was ordering, she was telling me to get dinner for Jaron, too. So sweet, she was worried that Jaron wasn't going to get any. Then, on the way home she kept saying she "missed her Jaron" and "loves her Jaron". It was so cute. It was good for them to have some time apart to appreciate each other. They have been playing together pretty good today.

Swimming

I have been taking Jaron and Jenna to the pool the last few days. They are loving it! Jaron is getting better at swimming. He is putting his face in the water.

We took the kids to story time on Wednesday. They brought in a turkey vulture. We learned some interesting things about the vulture. After story time we went to super wal-mart. They had a two pack of goggles for $1.50. It was the best $1.50 we have spent in a long time. Jaron has been wearing them a lot. He loves swimming with them on.

Wednesday, we also celebrated Father's Day because Jacob had to work on Sunday. I bbq'd steaks, and Jacob made a beautiful salad. He also sauteed mushrooms to go on the steaks. I grilled some red onions, too. We had some bread with dipping oil. It was a delicious dinner. For dessert, I made a lemon blueberry pie with mint. It was awesome.

Tooth Fairy Visit

Jaron was visited by the tooth fairy last night. She brought him $5.00! What a lucky boy! Here is a cute picture!

Today was also the last day of school. They had an ice cream party. We also received Jaron's report card. It was awesome! We are super proud of him.

Garden update: Our garden is doing great! Wednesday morning we went out back to check on it and I cut off a lot of cilantro. We came back in and I made homemade salsa with the cilantro to have with breakfast burritos. It was delicious! I put a lot of cilantro in the salsa. Yum! The jalapenos are getting blossoms, so are the zucchini. We have a couple tomatoes starting, too. It is so exciting!

After Jacob left for work this evening he called to tell me that there was a beautiful rainbow outside. I took the kids out so we could see it. It was a double rainbow. Very cool!

Jaron was eating popcorn this afternoon and out popped his loose tooth. He was very excited to lose it. I took a couple pictures to share. There is also a picture of Jenna showing us her teeth. She thinks she has a loose tooth, too.

I also baked some sugar cookies that look like watermelon slices today. I made them to celebrate Jaron's last day of school tomorrow. They turned out pretty cute. Jaron also gets to pick what we have for dinner tomorrow. He chose tri-tip and I am going to make potato salad.

The First Loose Tooth

This evening while eating dinner, Jaron discovered he has a loose tooth! He was pretty scared. He doesn't want it to fall out because there will be blood. It is super exciting and a little sad. Today was also my last day helping out in Jaron's kindergarten class. His last day of school is this Thursday. Anyway, today was game day. The kids were able to bring in their favorite board games and that's all they did today was play games. I read the class a story, after reading the story Jaron gave me a big card the class had made. He child drew me a picture and wrote "thank you" for helping in the classroom. It was very sweet. I got a little teary-eyed.

Last Thursday was Jaron's class field trip to Turtle Bay. We had so much fun. We were able to go see A T-Rex named Sue. It was awesome. It is crazy just how big it is. The Lego exhibit is amazing. Jaron and I really liked that one. We can't wait to go back and take Daddy and Jenna.

Saturday we went to a birthday party at Party ExtraodinAir. Jaron and Jenna had so much fun. Jenna is now climbing the big slide all by herself.
