Our Garden and New Screen Doors

On Monday, Jacob went up to Redding and bought the wood we needed to start our garden. When he got home, we went out back and made the box. We just need to get the soil and plants and we will have a nice little garden. It is 8' x 4'. I am so excited to have home grown tomatoes and whatever else we decide to plant. Here are some pictures of what we've done so far.

Today we finally got our new screen doors installed. We now have a security door on the front and a retractable screen door on the kitchen door. Today is a perfect day to have them open. There is a nice breeze blowing and we are getting lots of fresh air in the house.

MADD

On Saturday, Jacob and I left Jaron and Jenna with my parents and we went to Sacramento. Jacob was invited to attend the MADD Ca. Law Enforcement and Community Recognition Dinner. He was invited because he arrested 109 DUI's last year. The most in his department! We really enjoyed the dinner. They had many speakers talk about their experiences and how their lives have been affected by people driving under the influence. Some of the stories were very sad. There was a 10 year old boy who told how his uncle was killed by a drunk driver. I had to try really hard to hold back the tears. Jacob was given a really nice plaque and they took and professional picture of us. When it was over, around 10pm, we decided to walk around downtown a bit. We were a bit hungry, but didn't find anything open except for bars. So, we went back to our room and ordered room service. It was delicious. On Sunday, we went shopping. I got the kids some cute summer clothes from Children's Place. That is probably my favorite store for the kids right now. Here are some pictures that we took at the MADD dinner.

This is what was written about Jacob in the program.

Officer Provencio is assigned to the Traffic Unit and used a very pro-active and aggressive approach to pursue those driving under the influence, whether alcohol or drug use. Officer Provencio led the department with 109 DUI arrests in 2008.

I am so proud of him!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to Everyone! We hope you all are having a wonderful day. It is a beautiful day here. Jaron and Jenna woke up this morning to see that the Easter Bunny brought them Easter baskets filled with lots of goodies.

Jaron received a Wolverine hand that has blades that come out, just like Wolverine. He also got a new game for the Wii. It is a Stars Wars game, and he got light sabers that plug into the Wii controller and light up. We haven't played yet, but Jacob is just itching to try it out. I've already had to tell Jacob to give the Wolverine claw back to Jaron. Jaron also got a really cute IronMan t-shirt and some Transformer flip flops.

Jenna received a new head to toe outfit from Gymboree complete with matching sunglasses, bracelets and shoes. She also got a fairy princess costume. She looks absolutely adorable in it. She got a new hat for the summer and a couple things of lip gloss, she loves lip gloss.

After the kids opened their baskets, I fixed breakfast. Then, we went outside to see where the Easter Bunny had hidden the eggs. The Easter Bunny also left a present on the porch. It was a kid size wheelbarrow so they can help us move rocks in the backyard! Jaron and Jenna found their eggs and we came back inside. We had to go to Super Wal-Mart to get some things for dinner. I am going to BBQ steaks, and we will have salad, potatoes, deviled eggs and bread.

Catching Up

We have kept pretty busy this week. On Thursday, Jenna and I went to my friend Koren's house to visit with her new baby, Eve. Jenna and I also made them dinner. We made them a pizza casserole. It is really good. It has spiral pasta, pizza sauce, and pepperoni in it. Anyway, Jenna had fun playing with Koren's other daughter, Hazel. They are really starting to play a lot better together. I spent the morning holding Eve so Koren could have a little break. I totally didn't mind at all. Eve is such a sweet little baby. She is so cuddly. She fell asleep while I was holding her and I loved it.

Yesterday, my parents came down to visit with Jaron and Jenna and give them their Easter presents. My parents walked down to the bus stop with Jenna and I to pick Jaron up. Jaron was so excited to see Nana and Papa waiting for him. We came back home and started to decorate Easter eggs. Nana helped Jenna, and Papa and I helped Jaron. We enjoyed coloring eggs with Nana and Papa.

After finishing the eggs Jaron and Jenna opened their presents. Jenna got three really cute summer dresses. Jaron got some new jeans which he needed and a cute t-shirt. They also got some candy and a few other things. I fixed dinner for everyone and then my parents went back home.

Jaron and Jenna also received their Easter baskets from their Grandma and Grandpa. Jenna got a really cute dress and some toys. Jaron got a really handsome outfit and some toys. And, of course their was candy! They spent the rest of the evening playing with all their new things.

Today, the kids and I made sugar cookies. While the cookies were cooling we did some scrapbooking. Jaron and Jenna just like to cut up pieces of paper. But they always have fun doing it. Then, I made icing and let the kids pick out what colors they wanted to make. They iced all the cookies by themselves. I just watched and took pictures. When we were done, Jenna helped wash the dishes. She loves washing dishes......for now.
