Happy 5th Birthday Jenna!

Our little girl is now 5 years old. I can't believe it. In just 3 weeks she is going to be in kindergarten. This summer has flown by. We celebrated her birthday with lunch at Chuck E. Cheese and then went to my parents house for ice cream cake and presents! She had a great time!

On Tuesday, we went to San Francisco for the day. We had so much fun. We went to the aquarium at Pier 39. We also went on a bus tour of the city. Those drivers are amazing. I thought we were going to hit people, other cars, or the sidewalk at every turn. We had Jenna's birthday dinner at the Rainforest Cafe. Jaron's lunch was half a lobster and shrimp. He ate almost all of it! That kid loves seafood!!

A seagull had just swiped Jenna's corndog. It ate the stick and all within a matter of seconds. Jenna was not happy.

This was a great way to celebrate Jenna's birthday!

Today was the dress rehearsal for Jenna's dance class. She did a great job! We are so proud of our little dancer. She loves dancing, and it shows with the big smile on her face.

Last Day of School

Jaron had his last day of 2nd grade yesterday. He had an awesome report card again! We are so proud of him. I helped out at the school yesterday. They had a "play day". My station was squirting ducks off a stick with a squirt gun. It was fun, but super busy! The kids loved it!! My parents came out to our house to watch Jenna so I could be at the school. When Jaron got off the bus, we attacked him with water balloons! He loved it!

We have one more busy week and then we can relax and enjoy summer! Next week is Jenna's dance performance. I will be sure to post a video of it!

Soccer Is Back!!

Wow! I can't believe it is already April. March was another super busy month. Jaron and Jenna started soccer back up. This is Jenna's first season. She is still taking dance lessons. Her class is getting ready for their June performance. Her class is dancing to the song, Born to be Wild. They are riding their scooters. It is so cute. I will try to take a video and get it posted soon. We celebrated Jacob's birthday, our 8th wedding anniversary and 12 years together. Jacob was awarded another MADD California Hero Award in Sacramento. Jaron had another amazing report card! We couldn't be any more proud of him! He is doing so well in school! I've still been running, 3 days a week. I'm up to 5 miles. It is crazy that I can run that far. I've also been doing a kettlebell workout a few times a week. It is killer. I'm sore for days after. The biggest news we have from last month is that we registered Jenna for kindergarten. It is very sad and exciting. I know she will love it, but we are going to miss her so much. This is the Meyer lemon white chocolate cheesecake I made for Jacob's birthday! Last weekend were the first soccer games of the season. Jaron's was at 9 and Jenna's at 9:30. It was so fun, but a little stressful trying to watch both games. They both played really well. We had to remind Jenna a couple times that this was soccer, not dance. I think she thought all the people sitting on the sidelines wanted to see her dance moves. Jenna is all registered for kindergarten. She got her shots last month and all her paper work is filled out. She is super excited. At least Jacob and I have about 4 more months to prepare ourselves.

Jacob received another award from MADD. Last year he was off work until September. He made 65 DUI arrests in a 3 month period. I am so proud of him. To date he has 64.

Christmas

Here are some pictures of our Christmas celebration! We made sugar cookies and decorated them for Santa on Christmas Eve.
Jaron and Jenna got new matching pajama's on Christmas Eve.
Later that evening, I made peppermint popcorn and we watched "A Christmas Carol".
Christmas morning, Santa brought Jaron and Jenna some presents. This is the apron I made for Jenna that matches mine. She wears it when she bakes with her new Easy Bake Oven!

This is the scarf that I made for Jaron.
My favorite picture of the morning.
Jacob had to work Christmas night, so after we opened presents, he went to bed. I cooked a small ham for the kids and I. We had our "real" Christmas dinner on Sunday because Jacob was off that day. I cooked a prime rib, baked potatoes, burgundy mushrooms and a salad. It was delicious!

December

I know I said I would update our blog more often, but this was not the month to do it. We have been super busy. So, I'll share some pictures for now. Jaron and Jenna got their own trees to decorate.

We took Christmas card pictures.

Went to Winter in the Woods at Turtle Bay and made crafts and saw Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Went to a party at the Lake Club where we decorated cookies and made crafts.

I made myself a super cute Christmas apron.

Jacob helped Jaron build a gingerbread house at school.

We went to the RPD Christmas party.

Jenna had her Dance performance at the Cascade Theatre.

During all this, I've still made time to run and I've lost 10 pounds! We wish you all a very Merry Christmas!
