The day has finally come

Today is the day I've been dreading for the last 3 months. Jacob will be going back to work. It has been wonderful having him home all this time. We have had so much fun and gotten a lot done around the house. He truly is my best friend and I love him so much. We are both going to have a rough week adjusting. I'm sure Jaron and Jenna are going to have a hard time, too. Since it has been so long since I've posted I thought I would tell you what's been going on for the past month.

For Easter, we went to Fresno to spend it with Jacob's family. We had a great time. On Saturday we went to the zoo. It was fun, but I think the kids liked the snacks better than the animals. Jacob was so excited to get some pink popcorn and share it with the kids. That was one of his favorite things about going to the zoo when he was a kid.

When we got home, we got started on Jenna's room. We painted two walls bright pink and two walls white. We are still waiting for the furniture. We should have it by the end of the week or beginning of next. As soon as it is done I will post before and after pictures.

Last week, Jaron's school put on their spring music performances. The whole first grade performed together. Jaron was cracking us up. He was making faces the whole time. I asked him after why he was making faces and he said, to make me laugh. Well it sure worked. I love that boy!

Friday was Mother/Son game night at the school. Jaron and I had a blast. We played games together and ate dinner there, pizza and cake! Yum!
Saturday after Jaron's soccer game, Jacob and I left for Sacramento. Jacob was given another California Hero award from MADD for arresting 106 DUI's last year. I am so proud of him. He is awesome at finding drivers under the influence! We really enjoyed the dinner. Afterwards, we changed our clothes and walked through Old Sacramento for a bit. Then, Sunday morning we got up and had breakfast. Then we went to Roseville and spent the day shopping at the mall. We were able to get lots of new clothes for the summer for Jaron. He has outgrown almost everything from last summer and the beginning of school. I'm going to have to stop feeding that kid! He is going to be taller than me in no time.
Jacob's mom came up to watch Jaron and Jenna for us. They had lots of fun with Grandma. When I got home from helping out in Jaron's classroom yesterday, she taught me how to make pajama shorts for Jaron and Jenna. They turned out really cute. I will take pictures of them after they are washed and Jaron and Jenna are wearing them. I love sewing! My next project is to make myself an apron. Have a great week!

Jenna's Pillow

I finished Jenna's pillow today. It is so cute. She loves it! She carried it around with her all day. She even took it in the car when we went to Wal-Mart. She even posed for pictures with her pillow.

A Busy Saturday

Our Saturday was super fun. Jaron had a soccer game and their team won again! This time the score was 4-1! He is on a great team. After soccer, we came home and had some lunch and rested for a little bit, then we took the kids to the pond and went fishing. The best part about fishing is stopping at the little store and getting snacks. The kids each pick out their own drink and then whatever they want to eat. Jenna picked a ring pop. I loved those when I was a little girl. I would always get them whenever my parents let me get candy. Jaron got some sour straw candy. He didn't even eat it. Silly boy. The only fish to be caught was a catfish by our little miss Jenna. She reeled it all the way in by herself! She got a little creeped out as soon as she saw it. I can't blame her, catfish are really ugly.

Saturday morning, my friend Jessica brought a treat over for Jaron and Jenna. It was a dessert in a bucket with crushed up oreo's and gummy worms. So cute! Jaron and Jenna loved it. I just let them get a couple of spoons and dig in! They thought it was really fun and delicious! Thanks Jessica!

Jaron's Pillow

Yesterday, I finished another sewing project. I made Jaron a pillow with his name on it. I had so much fun making it. Jaron helped pick out the fabric for it, but he had no idea I was working on it. I finished it just before he got home from school. I laid it on his bed with the rest of his pillows. He was really happy about it. He carried it around with him and was laying with it the rest of the day. It makes me so happy that he loves it so much. I love it, too. I think it turned out really well. I'll be starting Jenna's very soon. She was upset with me that I didn't start hers as soon as Jaron's was finished.

Jaron also got his report card yesterday. It is awesome. His grades were mostly 4's. (That's the highest grade!) We are so proud of him. We took Jaron and Jenna out for frozen yogurt to celebrate! Today we are getting ready for another soccer game. It is supposed to be a beautiful day. Have a great weekend!

Dragonflies Win!!

That is Jaron's soccer team. They had their first game on Saturday morning. His team won 5-2! It was so much fun and pretty exciting seeing Jaron out there playing a team sport. Here are some pictures!

We were able to finish cleaning out our garage this weekend, too. It is so nice. I was able to park the car in it today! It is so clean! We got rid of a bunch of junk and trash. It feels so good to have that big of a job finished. Next up, Jenna's room!

Soccer Practice

Wow! I can't believe it has been over a month since I updated our blog. So sorry. We have been pretty busy. It has been amazing having Jacob home. He will be home for another 5 weeks or so. I love every minute of it. We are all totally inseparable right now. It is hard for us to do anything without the other. Anyway, I will try to do better at updating, but I'm not making any promises. At least not until Jacob goes back to work.

Jaron had his first soccer practice yesterday. It was really cute to see the young kids running around. Jaron did pretty well. They have their first game on Saturday so that should be interesting. Here are a few pictures from practice and I'll throw in a couple of Jenna, too!

We have a super busy weekend ahead of us. We are renting a dumpster so we can clean out the garage. We are also re-doing Jenna's room. She is getting a twin bed and new dresser and we are going to re-paint. I will definitely share pictures when we are done. It will be a super girly big girl room. I am really excited about it and a little jealous.

I did it!

For the last year I have really wanted to learn how to sew. My mom had a brand new sewing machine that she got for a great deal. She told me I could have it. So, last week I got it out and read the manual. I learned everything about it. I found this great tutorial online to sew a scarf. I thought that it sounded like a great project to try first. So, I got some fabric and put a scarf together. I think it turned out really well for my first sewing project.

I am hooked! I can't wait to sew something else!

Jacob is doing much better. He started walking yesterday without his crutches. He is moving right along!
